Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Effective 26 September 2026 · Last updated 26 September 2026

The short version. Hoody helps students prepare for exams. A parent must set up and supervise a child's account. Our content is reviewed by teachers but we cannot promise it is free of every error, and no one can guarantee an exam result. Don't misuse the service. Indian law applies.

1. These terms

These Terms govern your use of the Hoody applications and website, operated by Hello World Technologies, B302, Kumar Sahawas, Baner Pashan Link Road, Pune, Maharashtra, India 411021 ("Hoody", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Hoody you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Hoody.

Where a school has licensed Hoody, the agreement signed with that school also applies and takes precedence over these Terms if they conflict.

2. Who may use Hoody

  • An account holder must be 18 or over and capable of entering a contract.
  • A student under 18 may use Hoody only through an account created and consented to by their parent or lawful guardian, or provisioned by their school with that parent's consent.
  • A student 18 or over may hold their own account.

By creating an account for a child you confirm you are their parent or lawful guardian and that you accept these Terms on their behalf.

3. Accounts

Keep your password and any class code or student PIN confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@hoodyapp.in if you believe an account has been accessed without permission. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

A parent may view their child's activity. A teacher may view results for students in their own class only.

4. School licences

Where a school licenses Hoody, the school is responsible for providing accurate student and parent details, obtaining any permissions it is required to obtain, and telling us when a student or teacher should no longer have access. Licences are for the named students and cannot be transferred or shared.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Share account credentials, class codes or PINs with anyone not entitled to them
  • Copy, scrape, resell or redistribute Hoody's content
  • Attempt to access another person's account or data
  • Reverse engineer, disrupt or overload the service, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission
  • Upload anything unlawful, abusive, or harmful, or anything that infringes another person's rights
  • Use Hoody to cheat in an examination or to breach your school's rules

We may suspend or remove access for breach of this section.

6. Content, accuracy and outcomes

Hoody's study content is generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence and then reviewed and approved by practising teachers before it is published. We work hard to make it correct and aligned to the relevant syllabus.

However:

  • Content is provided for study support only. It does not replace a school's teaching, its prescribed textbooks, or official guidance from an examination board.
  • Syllabuses, question patterns and examination rules change. We update content but cannot guarantee it is current at every moment.
  • Despite review, errors can occur. If you find one, tell us at hello@hoodyapp.in and we will correct it.
  • We do not guarantee any examination result, mark, grade or academic outcome. Any figures shown in the app describing marks, predicted scores or exam weighting are estimates based on past examination patterns and a student's own activity. They are not predictions of, or promises about, actual results.

7. Intellectual property

Hoody, its name, logo, mascot, software and study content are owned by us or our licensors, and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Hoody for study, for as long as your account is active.

Third-party materials — including textbooks and past examination papers — remain the property of their owners. Where our content refers to such material, it does so for the purpose of study and citation.

8. Content you submit

You keep ownership of questions, answers and images you submit. You grant us a licence to process them in order to provide the service — for example to answer a question, grade an answer, or show a teacher which topics their class finds difficult — and, in anonymised and aggregated form that cannot identify anyone, to improve Hoody.

9. Fees

Where Hoody is provided under a school licence, fees and payment terms are set out in the agreement with that school. Where a subscription is purchased directly, the price, billing period and cancellation terms are shown before purchase. Unless the law requires otherwise or we state otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable. We may change prices on reasonable notice.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Hoody and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if a school licence ends, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Availability and disclaimers

We aim to keep Hoody available and working, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Hoody is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties, including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or for any examination result or academic outcome.

Our total liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you or your school paid us for Hoody in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) ₹5,000.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of Hoody or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will give notice by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Hoody after that means you accept the updated Terms. Every version is archived and numbered.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Pune, India have exclusive jurisdiction, save that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court. Before starting proceedings, please contact us — most issues are resolved quickly.
